Dr. Gideon Esuzor

DNP, MBA, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Welcome – I am Dr. Gideon Esuzor, founder of New Horizon Psychiatry. I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner based out of Maryland. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clayton State University, Morrow GA. I immediately began my nursing career at the renowned level one trauma center, Grady Hospital. My clinical journey would lead me to stints in the critical, coronary, post anesthesia, cardiac electrophysiology care unit in major Metro Atlanta area hospitals.

In 2011, I joined the United States Air Force as a flight nurse, deploying to Afghanistan in combat missions to evacuate wounded U.S. Service members and NATO forces. In 2017, I transferred to the U.S Public Health Service, where I continue my public service. 

I have a Master of Business Administration from Clayton State University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of West Georgia. In 2023, I obtained a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. 

My down-to-earth disposition makes it easy to connect with people. I treat mood disorders, depression, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, and bipolar disorder in patients aged 18 and older.

I love sports and spending time with my family.
